For ICT to be useful, learners must have the skills and confidence to apply, combine and adapt their knowledge to new situations in their life and work. They need the capacity to identify and understand the role that ICT plays in the world and use ICT in ways that enable them to function as effective citizens and benefit them in life and work.![]()
Functional Skills Standards
ICT assessments are assessed at Entry Level 1, 2, 3 and Level 1 and 2.
Assessments at Entry Level are available in the following two formats:
- Paper-based (marked by Centre, moderated by EDI)
- Contextualised paper-based (marked by Centre, moderated by EDI)
All levels are available on demand for Centres approved by EDI to deliver Functional Skills. EDI requires 12 calendar days' notice for paper-based assessments and 12 weeks notice for contextualised paper-based assessments.
ICT assessments at Level 1 and Level 2 are available as paper-based only.
The assessment criteria information sheet details the assessment criteria at each level together with the delivery method adopted by EDI.
